Electronic Emergency Council Meeting

Mayor DeViet to call the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 

In response to COVID-19 we continue to hold Council meetings electronically. Members of the public are invited to participate in this meeting of Council by accessing the meeting which will be live-streamed on our Middlesex Centre YouTube channel

Council will be proceeding to a Closed Session following disclosures of interest. The regular meeting agenda will commence at approximately 6:00 p.m.

The Committee of Adjustment will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m.

The Municipal Conflict of Interest Act requires any member of Council declaring a pecuniary interest and the general nature thereof, where the interest of a member of Council has not been disclosed by reason of the member’s absence from the meeting, to disclose the interest at the first open meeting attended by the member of Council and otherwise comply with the Act.

  • THAT the Council for the Municipality of Middlesex Centre adjourn to closed session at ________ pursuant to Section 239 (2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended to discuss the following matters:

    Section 239 (2)(e)  litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board;

    Section 239 (2)(f)  advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose.

  • THAT the Items listed under the heading of Consent Agenda for February 17, 2021 be adopted as recommended.

  • THAT Council receives Report CLK-03-2021, re: Summary of Planning Application Submissions for 2020 as information.

  • THAT the Budget to Actual Report CPS-05-2021 for January 2021 be received for information.

  • THAT Report CPS-04-2021, re: YMCA surplus 2020 be received for information.

  • THAT the minutes of the Community Services Advisory Committee held on December 7, 2020 be adopted as printed.

  • THAT Report CLK-05-2021 re: Municipal Councillor Appointment – Ward 4 be received;

    AND THAT Council confirm the appointment of Sue Cates to the office of Ward 4 Councillor for the remainder of the 2018-2022 term of Council.

  • THAT Report CPS-06-2021 dated February 17, 2021 re: Municipality’s Asset Management Software be received;

    AND THAT Council approves the purchase of the Dude Solutions Software at an initial cost of $19,962.60 for 2021 and $12,846 for the annual renewal which will accounted for in the annual budget;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council delegate authority to the Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer to execute all related service agreements with Dude Solutions.

  • THAT Council adjourn its regular meeting at 7:00 pm in order to sit as a Committee of Adjustment under Section 45 of The Planning Act R.S.O., 1990, as amended, to consider the following Minor Variance applications:

  • THAT Minor Variance Application A-1/2021, filed by Mike Harasym on behalf of Harasym Developments Inc. for relief from the Comprehensive Zoning By-law in order to establish an interior side yard setback of 1.5 metres (5 feet) on one side, and 2.096 metres (6.87 feet) on the other, whereas the By-law requires a minimum interior side yard setback of 1.5 metres (4.9 feet) on one side and 2.5 metres (8 feet) on the other side; for a property legally described as Lot 93, Plan 33M746, Municipality of Middlesex Centre, County of Middlesex, and Municipally known as 133 Edgewater Boulevard, be GRANTED.

    AND THAT the reasons for granting Minor Variance Application A-1/2021:

    • The request complies with the general intent and purpose of Middlesex Centre’s Official Plan;
    • The request complies with the general intent and purpose of Middlesex Centre’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law;
    • The request is minor in nature; and
    • The request represents appropriate development on the subject property.
  • THAT Committee does now rise from Committee of Adjustment and reconvene the regular meeting of Council at  ________p.m.

  • THAT By-law 2020-054 and By-law 2021-013 through to By-law 2021-017 be adopted as printed.

  • THAT the Council for the Municipality of Middlesex Centre adjourns the February 17, 2021 Council meeting at ___ p.m.
