Mayor DeViet calls the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.

In response to COVID-19 we continue to hold Council meetings electronically.

Members of the public are invited to participate in this meeting of Council by accessing the meeting which will be live-streamed on our Middlesex Centre YouTube channel.

There are no additions to the February 2, 2022 Council Agenda.

There are no disclosures of pecuniary interest to note for the February 2, 2022 Council Agenda items.

Dr. Chris Chant is in attendance to provide a presentation regarding a concept for a potential multi-purpose sports facility to be established in Middlesex Centre. A copy of the PowerPoint presentation is on file in the Clerk's Office.

    AND THAT the request from the Optimist Club of Bryanston-Birr approved in the amount of $1,500 in accordance with the Council Grants Policy;

    AND THAT the request from the Optimist Club of Ilderton be approved in the amount of $500 in accordance with the Council Grants Policy;

    AND THAT the request from the Middlesex Centre Archives be approved in the amount of $5,000 in accordance with the Council Grants Policy;

    AND THAT the request from the Delaware Lioness be approved in the amount of $1,750 in accordance with the Delaware Hydro Reserve Fund Policy;

    AND FURTHER THAT that staff be directed to prepare correspondence and issue payment to the above noted organizations.

There is no County Council update for February 2, 2022. The next Middlesex County Council meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2022

    THAT the Council for the Municipality of Middlesex Centre adjourn to closed session at 10:12 a.m. pursuant to Section 239 (2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended to discuss the following matters:

    Section 239 (2)(a)  the security of the property of the municipality or local board;

    Section 239 (2)(e)  litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board;

    Section 239 (2)(f)  advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose.
